Project Description:
The School of Music & Art project consists of approximately 35,000 csf. of high architectural walls, both interior and exterior. The light gray colored walls have a typical reveal and form tie pattern. Several of the perimeter walls have the architectural pattern on both sides of the wall which produced a blind forming condition when setting the double-up wall panel. Meticulous care was taken to install the reveals over all the plywood joints in the wall panels. All the snap-ties used on the project were special order stainless steel ties because the tie holes were to remain exposed on as part of the final architectural facade. A relatively simple stud and waler wall panel system was used to accommodate the finish requirement and the varying wall configurations.

The suspended slabs on the project provided the roof level for the building, except for a very small second floor area. The shoring of the roof varied widely throughout the building. Some areas were fairly typical, others were very high and a couple of the high areas were even sloped. These varying conditions required extensive engineering support to design and layout the shoring for all the unique areas. Most of the suspended slabs required the use of steel shoring.

Typical scissor clamp column forms were designed by our in-house engineering for the project.
